1659 (pronounced sixteen-fifty-nine or sixteen square) is a comic book series that is written and illustrated by CoMo and CoJu.
The general plot is about the life of various characters (mainly Chip, Lynn, and The Futurists) while aliens invade Earth and cause chaos after their home planet was destroyed by a Godly entity after the aliens were harnessing energy from the Godly entity for fuel and electricity.
When CoMo and CoJu started 1659 on August 12, 2022, there was no planned story. For the first three books, the story was made completely as they went along during the illustration process. Since making the fourth book (4: Sailing Towards God), the story has gradually became more planned and lead to the creation of a general plot.
There are some parts of the book that are unnecesiarely offensive. Please be advised.

The series was originally titled "No Flare, Just 16 Square" because each page will usually have 16 panels. The title was eventually shortened to 1659, with "59" reading as "SQ".
On the completion of the first book, CoMo decided that every book would have 39 pages. This is to honor a bus route that he used to frequently ride.
The start and end dates of making a book weren't recorded until 5: Alien Stuff. Only estimated month ranges can be given for the first four books.
The first three books originally didn't have titles. 1659:1 used to be titled "INDESCRIBABLE!!!", but eventually was renamed to its current title after a meme that came from AI Sponge, a livestream that used to air SpongeBob characters performing AI generated scripts.
The covers of the first three books were remade by CoJu in January 2024, but they have not been used.
